The Partnership Imperative: Maintaining American Leadership in a New Era

Since the early 1990s, US foreign policy has been trying to cope with march of technology, explosion of global markets, growth of population, and decay of the global environment. It has done so largely with ideas and tools crafted for a different era. The Foreign Policy Project’s final report argues that, in this new era, America must maintain its international leadership and that, to do so, the US cannot work alone but must work in partnership with other states and institutions.
