Stimson Center Welcomes New Board Members

The Stimson Center welcomed two new members to its Board of Directors at its fall Board meeting: Suresh Katta and Mara Motherway. Katta is the founder of Saama Technologies, a healthcare data and analytics company. Motherway is a Senior Vice President at Peraton, a national security technology company.

Brian Finlay, President and CEO of the Stimson Center said: “We are excited to welcome Mara and Suresh, who together bring a broad diversity of experience to the Stimson Board. They have distinguished themselves in private sector leadership, in pioneering leading-edge technologies, and applying that innovation in private, public and military service. Mara Motherway is a widely recognized public policy expert, strategist, and business leader.  As the senior vice president for government and customer relations, she leads Peraton Corporation’s strategy and engagement with the legislative branch, the executive branch, state, and local officials, think tanks, and trade associations. Mara spent the first twenty-one years of her professional life serving her country on active duty as a U.S. naval officer.  Since retiring, she has led business delivery for fortune 500 companies, developed corporate strategies and established in-house government relations departments. She serves on the boards of Orion Talent, The International Spy Museum, and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). Full Bio.

Suresh Kata founded Saama Technologies in 1997 and served as CEO for 25 years before being elevated to Chairman Emeritus earlier this year. As CEO, Katta led and reshaped the healthcare and pharmaceutical data analytics industry, leveraging AI across various business verticals and stewarding a partnership with Pfizer to help develop the world’s first COVID- 19 vaccine.

As one of the industry’s recognized data and analytics innovators, Suresh sits on the Board of Directors of the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO) and a few other private companies.
