Stimson Center Welcomes Four New Members to Its Board of Directors

Washington, DC – The Stimson Center today announced the appointment of four distinguished leaders to its Board of Directors: Brett B. Lambert, Jill Weise, Eliot Kang, and Raj Shah. Their terms begin immediately and reflect Stimson’s continued commitment to bringing diverse experience and strategic insight to its governance and mission.

Brett B. Lambert is the Managing Director of The Densmore Group, a national security and intelligence consultancy, and previously served as Vice President of Corporate Strategy at Northrop Grumman. A respected leader in defense industrial base policy, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy from 2009–2013, where he helped launch the first Manufacturing USA institute. Lambert is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Senior Associate at CSIS, and holds multiple board and advisory roles across the defense, technology, and advanced manufacturing sectors. Jill Weise is the Vice Chair–Client Services and Managing Director at Kroll, where she oversees major corporate accounts and brings multi-disciplinary solutions to complex client needs. She previously served as Kroll’s Chief Impact Officer, leading the firm’s ESG strategy, philanthropy, and values-driven initiatives, and earlier led Kroll’s global Transfer Pricing practice. A Certified Business Economist with more than 25 years of international taxation and transfer pricing expertise, she has advised clients across a wide range of industries and held senior roles at Deloitte, Charles River Associates, and Ceteris. Weise has been widely recognized as a leader in her field, including honors from the International Tax Review, Euromoney, and Chief Navigators Magazine. Dr. C.S. Eliot Kang is a former Acting Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security and previously served as Assistant Secretary for International Security and Nonproliferation. Over more than two decades at the State Department, he played key roles in major diplomatic efforts on nonproliferation and arms control, including the Six-Party Talks on North Korea, the multilateral referral of Iran’s nuclear file to the U.N. Security Council, and the five-year extension of the New START Treaty. He also helped shape U.S. engagement on emerging dual-use technologies and advanced peaceful nuclear cooperation with partners across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Raj Shah is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Shield Capital, an investment firm focused on technologies bridging commercial innovation and national defense. He previously served as Managing Partner of the Pentagon’s Defense Innovation Unit Experimental (DIUx), leading efforts to strengthen technological ties between Silicon Valley and the Department of Defense. He also serves as Chairman of cyber-security firm Resilience, sits on NATO’s Innovation Fund Board, and is a commissioner on the DoD’s PPB&E Reform Commission. A former F-16 pilot with multiple combat deployments, he is also the author of Unit X: How the Pentagon and Silicon Valley are Transforming the Future of War.
