On September 7, 2011, the Stimson Center in conjunction with Nippon Foundation, Ocean Policy Research Foundation, and Sasakawa Peace Foundation hosted the inaugural session of the Tokyo-Washington Dialogue, entitled “The US-Japan Alliance after 3-11” in Washington, D.C.  The event featured a keynote speech by Hon. Seiji Maehara, the former Foreign Minister and the Chairman of the Policy Affairs Research Council in the Democratic Party of Japan.  The event also featured remarks by Hon. Daniel Inouye of Hawaii and Hon. Jim Webb of Virginia and was attended by a wide range of American and Japanese politicians, analysts, and academics.  Click here for part one and part two of a video recording of the event.
