I wrote about the growing distance between Pakistani security narratives and narratives that outsiders hold about Pakistan. Patching up relations won’t happen without personal and intellectual engagement. So I asked Adil Sultan to provide ACW readers with his views in the form of a rebuttal. Adil is a former Visiting Fellow at the Stimson Center, who has gone on to get his Ph.D. and to teach at the National Defence University in Islamabad. His essay follows.
