Military basing decisions may take educational matters – including compatibility of standards – into consideration, according to a new report.

Matthew Leatherman, author of the report, is a non-resident fellow at the Stimson Center. Leatherman said that educational quality has been a factor in past base decisions and may play a more prominent role in the future. While the needs of the military will continue to be the most important factor, educational quality could move the needle on some decisions.
