In Japan

Washington welcomed a possible indication of improving Korea-Japan ties.

Korean President Park Geun-hye and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe both expressed hope for better relations at separate ceremonies marking the 50th anniversary of normalization of diplomatic ties hosted by each other’s embassies on Monday.
