Perhaps Washington’s European and Middle Eastern allies needn’t have worried about being forgotten in the US “Asia pivot”. If anything, the Asia pivot itself has been overshadowed by the Arab Spring and Ukraine. Obama barely mentioned it in his last State of the Union speech. But as he finally makes his first state visit to several Asian allies, are things about to change?

Armen Georgian puts that question to Yuki Tatsumi, Senior Associate of the East Asia Program at the Stimson Center in Washington, DC.
