South Korea-Japan Issues
Panelists talked about some of the unresolved historical issues between South Korea and Japan, including Japan’s occupation of Korea from 1910-1945.
“South Korea-Japan Tensions Undermine Allied Security Interests” was a panel of the Heritage Foundation forum “History Impedes Future Progress in Northeast Asia” that focused on the historical issues behind the strained relations between Japan and South Korea, and the regional security threats to the U.S. and its Pacific allies from North Korea and China.
