Giffen Lectures at the AIPR/US Army CGSC Workshop on Preventing Mass Atrocities

Alison Giffen was invited to Poland as a subject matter expert to teach two
modules in a
week-long course for United States Army Majors from the Command and
General Staff College (CGSC). The event, held from 20-25 September
2010, was sponsored
and hosted by the Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation
(AIPR), as part of an initiative created in response to recommendations
laid out by the 2008 Genocide Prevention Task Force report. Giffen
taught two classes related to “International
and Regional Organizations Involved in Preventing or Responding to Mass
Atrocities” and “Working
with Local Civilians and Civil Society while Preventing/Halting/Responding to
Mass Atrocities.”
