China has long been a crucial actor in Myanmar, with bilateral relations greatly influenced by a 2,185-kilometer shared border and economic interconnectivity projects. In the realm of conflict mediation, China has also become an increasingly crucial actor in influencing the trajectory of Myanmar’s rapidly evolving conflict. To highlight developments in China’s relations with Myanmar, the Stimson Center has developed a database of critical events, meetings, statements, bilateral interactions, and mediation activity from late October 2023 to the present.
