WASHINGTON — The Stimson Center Board of Directors unanimously elevated Susan Chodakewitz to Chair at a recent meeting in February. The Board also expressed its appreciation for the service of former Chair David Lane, whose tenure was marked by strong growth across the organization.

Chodakewitz, who was elected to the Board in 2018, is an accomplished senior executive with a notable track record in the private sector. She brings a wealth of experience to the position of Chair, having worked with the Federal Government and commercial industry, as well as international NGOs and non-profits. Since 2015, Chodakewitz has served as the President and CEO of Nathan Associates, Inc., a private international consulting firm supporting a wide range of commercial and public sector clients. Previously, she was president of TetraTech AMT, the aviation management and information technology arm of the well-known engineering services firm.

“The Stimson Center is a mission-focused, entrepreneurial, and growing organization with a 30-year legacy of leadership to uphold,” Chodakewitz said, “and I am grateful for the Board’s confidence. I also want to recognize the contributions of former Chair David Lane and the many others who have served in this role. The fact that Stimson has continued to thrive and grow during this challenging period is a testament to our innovative approach to policy change. I, and the entire Board, are committed to helping ensure Stimson’s sustainability and global impact far into the future.”

Brian Finlay, Stimson Center President & CEO said: “Susan Chodakewitz is a leader of remarkable achievement across a broad range of business and government ventures. That experience will be invaluable as Stimson continues to grow and charts a course for our next three decades. We are all excited to continue that work with Sue at the helm of the Board. I look forward to her counsel and am grateful for her service.”
