Jupiter Huang is a Junior Fellow with the South Asia Program, focusing on the Strategic Learning Initiative. A second-year accelerated Master’s candidate in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University, his research interests center around nuclear policy and emerging technologies. 

Jupiter completed a senior project on hypersonic weapons and deterrence gaps, and a minor thesis on the use of generative AI by far-right extremists. He has also co-authored an article on the political and technical dimensions of U.S. nuclear nonproliferation policy, and presented his research at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Before joining Stimson, Jupiter held internships at Renaissance Strategic Advisors, the Center for a New American Security, Nuclear Threat Initiative, Arms Control Association, and the U.S. Congress. He graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University with a B.SFS in Science, Technology, and International Affairs, and a minor in Jewish Civilization.  

Jupiter has written about South Asia nuclear security and climate change in Arms Control Today and the Georgetown Security Studies Review. He is fluent in Mandarin and proficient in Spanish.
