Key Focus
Protecting civilians is a core challenge in modern conflict, where violence increasingly affects noncombatants. Stimson’s work on the protection of civilians focuses on safeguarding civilian populations in conflict and crisis settings. Our research, analysis, and international engagement examines legal frameworks, operational practices, and accountability mechanisms to advance practical strategies that prevent harm, strengthen protection efforts, and uphold international norms.
