Professor Zhang Guihong, in this article written while a Visiting Fellow at the Henry L. Stimson Center from October 2002 through January 2003, addresses the important transformations taking place in U.S.-Indian and U.S.-Pakistani relations in the wake of September 11th and examines their implications for China’s new leadership.  Based on an analysis of various strategic triangles in South Asia affecting both Beijing and Washington, Professor Zhang analyzes PRC concerns and then provides policy recommendations for the Chinese government.
