Nick Hawkins is a Research Associate with the China program at the Stimson Center. His research focuses on Chinese foreign policy and China’s role in international affairs. Prior to joining Stimson, he conducted China-focused research at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and Rhodium Group. He was also previously Chief Operating Officer of a Beijing-based consulting firm and interned at a think tank and a risk advisory firm.

He holds a BA in East Asian Studies from Wesleyan University and an MA in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, where he studied at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center and wrote his master’s thesis in Chinese.
