Jyotshna Herbert

Special Assistant & Development Associate

Jyotshna Herbert was the Special Assistant & Development Associate in the Executive Office at the Stimson Center.  Jyotshna’s transition into this role followed years of dedicated service as the Executive Assistant to the President and CEO where she was instrumental in maintaining his complex calendars, domestic and international travel logistics, event management, and being the liaison for the Executive office and the staff as well as the Board of Directors. As the Special Assistant & Development Associate, Jyotshna managed several data points for development purposes and assistedthe Executive office in outreach projects. She also was the point of contact for Stimson Center’s Alfred Lee Loomis Innovation Council, Stimson Cabinet, and the EastWest Council.

Jyotshna brings eight years of experience working in C-Suite administration, having previously served as the Regional Manager for a medical company in the Greater Washington Area.

Jyotshna holds a Bachelor of Arts from Marymount University, where she graduated cum laude, with majors in History, Political Science, and Fine Arts, and minors in International Studies and Ceramics Arts. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in International Policy and Practice (MIPP) from The George Washington University.

Beyond her professional role, Jyotshna maintains an active practice as a local artist and curator. She has been recognized as a Christenberry Fellow for three consecutive years and served as a Senior Fellow at the Studio Gallery in Washington, DC. She continues her contribution to the local art scene through her involvement with the Art League Gallery, Gallery 75, and LAC Studios in Northern Virginia.
