Last Thursday, October 23rd 2014, the Stimson Center held its 25th Anniversary Gala, honoring Ashton B. Carter, former U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense; Timothy E. Wirth, Vice Chair of the U.N. Foundation; and Sadako Ogata, former President, Japan International Cooperation Agency, former U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. The night included introductions from Ambassador Kenichiro Sasae, Embassy of Japan to the United States and Ambassador Lincoln P. Bloomfield, Jr., Chairman of the Board, Stimson. Also giving tributes to the honorees were Madeleine K. Albright, former U.S. Secretary of State; Ellen Laipson, President and CEO, Stimson; and William J. Perry, former U.S. Secretary of Defense.
