Duane Andrews, Lori Fisler Damrosch, Laurie S. Fulton and Brett B. Lambert Join Stimson Center Board

Four new members have been appointed to three-year terms on the Stimson Center Board of Directors, Stimson President and CEO Ellen Laipson and Board Chairman Lincoln P. Bloomfield, Jr. announced today. The new Board members are Duane Andrews, Lori Fisler Damrosch, Laurie S. Fulton and Brett B. Lambert.
“These new Board members bring an enormous amount of Washington and international experience and knowledge to Stimson, and we appreciate their willingness to serve,” Laipson said. “Their valuable guidance will help Stimson fulfill its mission of finding pragmatic solutions to some of the most important problems of international security.”
“We’re fortunate to have Board members whose expertise in foreign policy and security strengthen Stimson’s effectiveness as a leading think tank,” Bloomfield said. “We welcome our newest members and look forward to working with them.”
Duane Andrews recently retired as chief executive of QinetiQ North America. He was previously executive vice president and chief operating officer of Science Applications International Corp. Earlier he served in the Department of Defense as assistant secretary for command control communications and intelligence, and as the department’s chief information officer. He was previously a professional staff member for the U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and a U.S. Air Force officer.
Lori Fisler Damrosch is a law school professor at Columbia University and president-elect of the American Society of International Law. She worked in the Office of the Legal Adviser in the U.S. State Department and as an associate with the law firm of Sullivan & Cromwell before joining the Columbia faculty in 1984.
Laurie S. Fulton was U.S. ambassador to Denmark from 2009 to 2013. She is a partner at the law firm of Williams & Connolly, which she first joined in 1989 after working on Capitol Hill and as executive director of non-governmental organizations. She served on the Board of Directors of the United States Institute of Peace from 2004 to 2008.
Brett B. Lambert served in the Department of Defense from 2009 to 2013 as deputy assistant secretary for manufacturing and industrial base policy. Earlier he spent 20 years working with defense and intelligence firms. From 1989 until 2007 he held positions of increasing responsibility at DFI International, a national security consultancy. He previously worked for the U.S. State Department.
