Years Listed

Each shaded box corresponds to a year the country appeared on the CSPA list and what types of waivers it received, if any.

Egypt first appeared on the CSPA list in 2023. The U.S. president fully waived CSPA prohibitions against the provision of U.S. arms sales and military assistance to Egypt, allowing for the provision of more than $1.3 billion in otherwise restricted military assistance in FY2024, including $1.3 billion in Foreign Military Financing and $2 million in International Military Education and Training.

According to the U.S. State Department, the government of Egypt reportedly “coordinated and conducted joint operations with a militia in the Sinai Peninsula that allegedly recruited and used children, including some in direct hostilities,” between April 2022 and March 2023.
