Justine Sullivan

Justine Sullivan is the Director of Strategic Communications at the Stimson Center. Before joining the Stimson Center, she was Director of Communications at Resources for the Future, a leading independent research institution for environmental economics. In 2019 and 2020, Sullivan headed up communications at Earth Day Network, where she worked with a global network of partners to build the worldwide activities to mark the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. During her tenure in this role, Earth Day Network was selected as Twitter’s 2020 Campaign for Change.

From 2013-2019, she led communication strategies for the climate and energy portfolio at the United Nations Foundation, where she helped to advise the international media engagement strategies around the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report, as well as building in-person and digital activations to support the adoption, ratification, and entry into force of the Paris Agreement. Sullivan also previously worked at the ocean conservation group Oceana, where she developed the organization’s digital media strategies.

Sullivan graduated from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service with a B.S. in International Relations and minor certification in Justice and Peace Studies.
