In a new study released today, Stimson was ranked 24th in the category of “Top Think Tanks in the United States.” The study by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program at the University of Pennsylvania also ranked Stimson 26th in the category of “Best New Idea or Paradigm Developed by a Think Tank” and 41st in “Top Defense and National Security Think Tanks.” The rankings mark a continued rise for Stimson, which in 2014 was ranked 29th in the category of “Top Think Tanks in the United States” and 53rd in “Top Defense and National Security Think Tanks.” There are more than 1,800 think tanks in the U.S. and more than 6,600 think tanks around the world, according to the study.
