Nevada Joan Lee

Nevada Joan Lee is a Research Associate for the Reimagining US Grand Strategy Program at the Stimson Center. Her research focuses on European security and defense, the transatlantic relationship, and NATO.

Prior to joining Stimson, Nevada held internships in Congress, the U.S. State Department, and the Global Survivors Fund.

Nevada graduated magna cum laude from Scripps College in Claremont, California with a B.A. in Politics. She then continued her education at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. There, she earned a Master’s in Transnational Governance with a focus on International Security, graduating with distinction.  Nevada wrote her Master’s thesis on the European Commission’s recent defense industry initiatives and their potential effects on American defense manufacturers and the transatlantic relationship. For this research, Nevada was awarded the Best Master’s Thesis Award.
