Please join us for a discussion with Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States Dr. Asad Majeed Khan on U.S.-Pakistan relations amidst shifting regional dynamics. Moderated by South Asia Deputy Director Elizabeth Threlkeld, the discussion will focus on opportunities and tensions in the U.S.-Pakistan relationship with the start of the Biden administration, the continued peace process in Afghanistan, and a renewed push for economic cooperation in a competitive region.

Highlights

Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, a career Pakistan foreign service officer, assumed his current position as Pakistani ambassador to the United States in January 2019. During a diplomatic career spanning nearly three decades, Ambassador Khan’s positions have included ambassador to Japan; director general (Americas) at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and deputy chief of mission at the Pakistani embassy in Washington, among others.
