The Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) celebrates a decade of reporting on annual arms transfers in 2025. In a trade too often shrouded in secrecy, undermining efforts to promote accountability, minimize risks, and build confidence between states, the ATT attempts to address these challenges. With a decade of experience, there is now an opportunity to reflect on whether States Parties are delivering on their transparency commitments and how does transparency in the ATT context fit into fellow multilateral initiatives?

Join the Stimson Center for an expert discussion on the current state of arms trade transparency. Panelists will take stock of ATT annual reporting trends, reflect on challenges facing reporting efforts, and explore how governments, civil society, and other stakeholders can further strengthen reporting on the international arms trade. The event will also launch a new Stimson analysis reflecting on recent ATT annual reporting and highlight efforts to improve synergies between the ATT and the UN Register of Conventional Arms (UNROCA).
