Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing how states exercise power, manage economic competition, and approach diplomacy and security. In the long term, AI may also transform how governments prevent conflict, navigate crises, and pursue peace.

Drawing on historical parallels, contemporary case studies, and real-world applications, this conversation will examine how AI is altering the practice of statecraft while considering the broader governance, ethical, and institutional challenges posed by increasingly capable technologies. Specific examples will range from AI-driven security threats, to real-world diplomatic applications for AI, to AI as a tool for peacebuilding and crisis management.

Rather than treating technological change as inevitable, the conversation will focus on the choices policymakers, technologists, and institutions can make to shape AI’s trajectory towards informed and responsible use-cases.

Join us as we welcome Branka Panic, a Global South voice in AI and peacebuilding and author of Foreign Policy at the AI Frontier: How AI is Reshaping Progress, Power, and Peace, to answer the question: How can we ensure that AI’s role in foreign policy increases global peace and prosperity?
