Event Took Place

Since Operation 1027, the Myanmar resistance groups claim to control 60 percent of Myanmar’s territory. With instability erupting on their borders, India and China are invested in protecting their strategic interests in Myanmar. Though India and China share similar concerns as neighboring countries, Myanmar remains a point of contestation between them.

Join us for a conversation with Ophelia Yumlembam, a Research Assistant at the Department of Political Science at the University of Delhi and recent author of an analysis of Myanmar, India, and China for South Asian Voices, to unpack Myanmar’s importance to China and India.
