USAID Administrator Dr. Rajiv Shah has brought innovation and new vision to the development assistance tool of U.S. foreign policy. In addressing problems of extreme poverty, food insecurity, impacts of natural disasters and climate change, and humanitarian burdens of conflict, USAID Missions worldwide are at the forefront of advancing U.S. national interests and expressing the commitment of the American people to others in need. Administrator Shah will offer perspectives on both new and longstanding USAID assistance approaches and their relationship to larger policy interests.
