As the United States, Mexico, and Canada prepared to co-host the World Cup, the Stimson Center’s Latin America Program hosted a private dialogue with Mexican Ambassador Esteban Moctezuma to discuss the future of the U.S.-Mexico relationship, including the review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), Mexico’s security strategy under President Claudia Sheinbaum, and its approach to migration. This dialogue was part of a Stimson Center Latin America Program series of private round tables with Latin American ambassadors at a time of rapidly changing U.S. policy in the region.
