Arief Karfianto is a Senior Information Technology Specialist at the Secretariat of Presidential Advisory Council, Indonesian Ministry of State Secretariat. He has been working for the Indonesian Government since 2009, primarily in the Information and Communication Technology field. Arief has contributed to various nationwide digital services, including the Indonesia Open Data Portal, National Complaint Handling System, and Monitoring and Evaluation System. Currently, his responsibilities include conducting studies and formulating policy recommendations, with a specific focus on innovation, digital transformation, IT governance, AI and cybersecurity. Arief has concerns about the impact of emerging technologies on society and how AI can assist decision-makers and policymakers in delivering improved public services and tackling critical challenges.
Arief possesses a strong passion for data management, IT strategic planning, IT security, DevOps, open-source software, and system development. He has acquired IT certifications, including the Mobile Application Penetration Tester, Linux Professional Institute Certification, Certified Data Center Professional, Certified Data Center Facilities Operations Manager, Certified Security Analyst, and Certified Secure Programmer. Arief completed his Master of Information Communication and Technology Advanced from the School of Computing and Information Technology, University of Wollongong, Australia. He also holds a Master of Management from the National Development University Veteran and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Cryptographic Engineering from the National Institute of Cryptology, Indonesia.
