Uzair Sattar is a Research Associate with the South Asia Program at the Stimson Center. He graduated summa cum laude with a BA in International Relations from Tufts University and studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the University of Oxford. During his undergraduate education, Uzair conducted research on the impact of water insecurity on hydropolitics in South Asia, Pakistan’s involvement in the Iran-Iraq War (1980-88), and the role of Pakistani civilian and military elites in foreign policy decision-making. Uzair’s research interests include hydropolitics, geopolitics, and post-colonial democratic institutionalization. His research and analysis have been published by Dawn, The Diplomat, The Friday Times, Inkstick Media, London School of Economics South Asia Center, South Asian Voices, SouthAsia Magazine, The Stimson Center, The News, and the Yale Review of International Affairs. Uzair has native proficiency in Urdu.
