Usama Nizamani

Usama Nizamani is a senior researcher with Infer, a digital platform conducting policy analysis on current events, and a host of the podcast Infer-Talks. Previously he worked with the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (2017-2022) and as a Psycho- Social Trainer (2015-2017) with Bytes for All, Pakistan. He contributes academic and policy papers on technology and policy- related issues, the role of emerging technologies in inter-state crises and their impact on strategic decision-making. He also closely follows strategic stability issues in South Asia, the ongoing US-China strategic competition in the Indo-Pacific and the domain of technology. Usama has been a speaker, discussant, and panelist in various national and international conferences and webinars. He has also participated in multiple Track-II dialogues dedicated to tech, policy, and strategic issues. During his fellowship, Usama will research how emerging technology will impact India and Pakistan’s crisis behavior and strategic stability.
