Sean (Hyuk Hyun) Kwon is a Nonresident Fellow at the Stimson Center’s Korea Program, where he examines how the United States and Republic of Korea can strengthen deterrence and deepen alliance cooperation by scaling the defense industrial base through resilient supply chains and secure adoption of AI and advanced manufacturing.
He is the founder and CEO of F4GE Inc., a precision manufacturing company applying artificial intelligence to defense and critical infrastructure supply chains. Previously, he was a two-time founder, including in defense technology, and served as an Investment Manager at 500 Global, a venture capital firm with over $3 billion in assets under management, where he invested in early-stage companies in AI, robotics, and advanced manufacturing.
Kwon served in the Republic of Korea Navy Special Warfare Flotilla (UDT/SEAL) and continues to serve as a reservist with the rank of Petty Officer First Class. He holds an M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and a B.A. from Paris-Sorbonne University. He is a native speaker of French, Korean, and English.
