Hely Desai is a Research Associate at the Council on Strategic and Defense Research in New Delhi, where she focuses on South Asian nuclear policy, deterrence, proliferation, and nuclear energy. She was formerly a Research Fellow at the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) and a Youth Leader at the United Nations Office of Disarmament Affairs (UNODA). She earned her MPhil in Modern South Asian Studies from the University of Cambridge, where she also contributed as a Graduate Researcher. She has served as an Associate Editor for the Cambridge Review of International Affairs. Her previous affiliations include positions at the Centre for Air Power Studies, the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, The Hindu, as well as valuable experience with the Ministry of External Affairs, India. Her work has appeared in War on the Rocks, South Asian Voices, and The Hindu, among others.
