Ashutosh Sharma

Ashutosh Sharma is an independent New Delhi based journalist. A native of Jammu and Kashmir, India, he writes and reports on human rights, politics, environment and culture. Currently, he is a freelance contributor for Thomson Reuters Foundation, The Caravan, The Frontline and Newsclick. He was awarded Laadli Media award for gender sensitivity in 2014. He also received National Media Award in 2014 for writing a series of reports on ‘Life in Conflict Zone’ highlighting the issues of border residents of Jammu and Kashmir — who bear the daily brunt of living in the backdrop of Kashmir conflict. Previously, he has worked with the National Herald as senior correspondent in New Delhi and Landmine and Cluster Munition Monitor as researcher in Jammu and Kashmir.
