This September, the United Nations will host the Summit of The Future 2024, which will seek a new consensus on how best to address the evolving and complex challenges facing the world. Recent years have demonstrated vivid gaps in our current multilateral systems. The need for innovative global governance is more urgent now than ever to better fulfill existing UN commitments, such as the Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Climate Agreement, and the principles of the UN Charter.

The views and priorities of the United States for the summit’s chief outcome, the Pact for the Future, will be crucial. What are the priorities of the Biden administration for the multilateral system? How will the administration seek to realize them, in collaboration with other Member States and non-governmental organizations? Are there causes of concern for Washington, and how might those be addressed?

Co-sponsored by the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area, the Academic Council on the UN System, Citizens for Global Solutions, One Earth Future Foundation, and the Alliance for Peacebuilding.

Event registration closes one hour prior to event time.
