The Stimson Center hosted a luncheon conversation on Pakistan’s regional security with Pakistani Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed and National Assembly Member Shezra Mansab Ali Khan Kharal. Michael Krepon and Sameer Lalwani served as hosts and moderators. Our discussion focused on Pakistan’s relations with China, India, and Afghanistan.

Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed is Chairman of the Pakistan Senate’s Defence and Defence Production Committee, where he has sought a greater role for Parliamentarians in these matters. He has served as Secretary-General of the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) since 2002. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Pakistan-China Institute. He also founded the Islamabad Policy Research Institute, where he still serves as a Member of Board of Governors. He has served as a Cabinet Minister and as the editor of The Muslim

Shezra Mansab Ali Khan Kharal is a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, representing the Pakistan Muslim League (N) from Punjab. She serves on the National Assembly Committee of Commerce, Committee of Industries and Production, and Committee of Railways.
