Track 1.5 and 2.0 dialogues are a series of closed-door in-person and virtual discussions, convening policymakers, academics, and experts to engage in knowledge sharing, explore sensitive issues, create space for testing ideas that might be too politically risky for official channels, and develop policy options for de-confliction and de-escalating tensions that can be fed back to official Track 1.0 processes.
This project builds on established dialogue processes based in the Middle East, including the Middle East Dialogue launched in 2012, the Arab States Dialogue launched in 2022, the US-Russia Middle East Dialogue launched in 2016, and the US-Turkey Dialogue launched in 2019.
