Global Political Demography Program

Helping policymakers anticipate and assess near-term and long-term changes in political behavior, economic development, and social progress in specific states and regions

This Program has been Archived and is no longer updated.

Since its inception in 2009, the Global Political Demography Program has helped policymakers anticipate and assess near-term and long-term changes in political behavior, economic development, and social progress in specific states and regions. The program started as a continuation of unclassified research originally conducted within the (US) National Intelligence Council’s Global Trends effort. It draws upon available demographic projections to produce global statistical forecasts for a set of political, social, and economic transitions. It also examines sub-national demographic data to forecast trends in ethnoreligious relations within states and to recommend sets of responsive policies.
