Emily Ashbridge

Emily Ashbridge is a Research Associate with the South Asia Program and Managing Editor of South Asian Voices. Before joining Stimson, Emily interned at the US Indo-Pacific Command in Hawaii and served as a program specialist at the US Institute of Peace, working on the Afghanistan and South Asia portfolios from 2017-2021. While at USIP, she supported the congressionally mandated Afghanistan Study Group, which identified and presented policy recommendations in Afghanistan to the Biden administration. Emily has traveled extensively in South Asia and lived in Pakistan from 2015-17. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2015 with a BA in Psychology and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Texas A&M University with a focus on China and grand strategy. At Stimson, Emily’s research focuses on peace and security in South Asia and the broader Indo-Pacific region.
