Daisuke Miwa

Daisuke Miwa is a Visiting Fellow at Stimson with the East Asia/Japan Program. His research focuses on multilateral cooperation on space policy. 

He was most recently the Aide de Camp to the Japanese Minister of Defense and is a Colonel in the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). He has also served as Commander of the 1st Air Defense Missile Squadron and as a Staff Officer within JASDF and the Ministry of Defense. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Defense Academy of Japan in Yokosuka and has also studied at Japan’s Maritime Command and Staff College (2013-2014) and Air Command and Staff College (2020-2021), as well as at the United States Army’s Air Defense Artillery School in 2007 (then located at Fort Bliss).
