As votes continue to be tallied from Myanmar’s general election on Sunday, Aung Sang Suu Kyi’s ruling party, the NLD, is set to emerge victorious, handing the State Counsellor a second term. Nevertheless, despite this continuation of government, the party still faces many of the domestic and international challenges it has witnessed since coming to power in 2015.
During these pivotal times for Myanmar, join East Asia Program Co-Director Yun Sun, Ambassador U Aung Lynn, Dr. Aung Naing Oo, and Priscilla Clapp in a post-election virtual discussion unpacking the results and what they mean for the future of the peace process, the Rohingya crisis, and Myanmar’s relationship with the world.
