In this tumultuous world, what role can Japan play as a defender of liberal international order? Join Yuki Tatsumi to explore the perspective of Dr. Yuichi Hosoya, one of Japan’s leading scholars in Japanese foreign and national security policy.

Yuichi Hosoya, Ph.D., Professor, Faculty of Law, Keio University

Yuichi Hosoya is a professor of international politics at Keio University, Tokyo. From 2014 to 2016, Dr. Hosoya was a member of the Advisory Board at Japan’s National Security Council (NSC), as well as the Prime Minister’s Advisory Panels on Reconstruction of the Legal Basis for Security from 2013 to 2014 and on National Security and Defense Capabilities in 2013. Dr. Hosoya has a Bachelor of Arts in international politics from Rikkyo University, an MIS from Birmingham University, and received his PhD from Keio University.
