The Brian D. Finlay Legacy Fund
The Brian D. Finlay Legacy Fund honors Brian’s life of courageous leadership, boundless curiosity, and unwavering dedication to a better world, reflected in his decades of leadership at the Stimson Center.
At the request of Brian’s family, the fund was created as a lasting tribute to his extraordinary life and contributions. It reflects their desire to carry forward the values, vision, and commitment to public service that defined Brian’s work and inspired all who knew him.
A contribution to the Brian D. Finlay Legacy Fund is an investment in Stimson’s long-term future. The fund will be established as an endowment, allowing the principal to grow over time while providing enduring support for Stimson’s mission. Your tax-deductible gift helps to ensure that Stimson remains an independent, innovative force for global security — continuing to tackle difficult problems, challenge conventional thinking, and advance practical solutions for generations to come.
Your support will help advance the ideas, initiatives, and next generation of leaders that Brian championed throughout his career. Together, we can honor Brian’s legacy not simply by remembering what he accomplished, but by investing in Stimson’s ability to continue that work in perpetuity — and ensuring that the institution Brian helped shape remains strong, independent, and ready to meet the global challenges of the future.
