Table of Contents

At a time of global uncertainty, Congressional engagement and leadership on foreign affairs and defense issues is urgently needed. The Stimson Center relaunched its Congressional Fellowship in 2019 to provide deep subject matter expertise to Members of House and Senate and their staff, while offering Fellows – mid-career national security experts – exposure to the legislative process and key Congressional stakeholders. This year-long fellowship program helps Congress engage more effectively on foreign policy and defense issues while offering Fellows first-hand exposure to the Legislative Branch. Fellows connect Members and staff to a wide range of practitioners and thought-leaders who can address Congress’ most critical information needs and create forums for regular, bipartisan discussion on foreign and defense policy challenges.
