Flows of strategic goods and technology are essential to the global economy and technological progress. However, sensitive and dual-use applications can contribute to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD)/conventional weapons proliferation and broader security risks and threats from state and non-state actors.
The Trade and Investment Security Program provides solutions, tools, and networks of research and practice to enhance the benefits of goods and technology flows while mitigating their security risks. The program provides publications, best practice tools, network-building, training, capacity-building, and research solutions. Through these activities, we work with and empower regulators, industry, academia, and international organizations to enhance implementation of export controls, sanctions, and foreign direct investment screening.
