Join us for a special discussion with Itsunori Onodera, the 12th, 17th, and 18th Minister of Defense, on Japan’s new security policy.

In December 2022, Japan published three key defense policy documents: the first revision of the National Security Strategy since 2013, the National Defense Strategy (formerly known as National Defense Program Guidelines), and the Defense Buildup Program (formerly known as Medium-Term Defense Program). Guided by these strategic documents, Japan is expected to chart a new course for its national security policy at a time when regional and global challenges are intensifying. Join us for a special discussion with Honorable Itsunori Onodera, the 12th, 17th, and 18th Minister of Defense of Japan, to explore what these documents mean for Japan’s national security policy and the implications for the U.S.-Japan alliance.
