Join us to discuss the implications of the March 7 Kachin offensive for the resistance in Myanmar.

Five months after the Three Brotherhood Alliance commenced Operation 1027 in Shan State in eastern Myanmar, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) launched its own offensive against the military on March 7. As Ethnic Resistance Organizations (EROs) continue to retake territory from the junta, understanding the goals of these groups and how they think about their role and connection to the broader resistance and their own goals in the conflict is critical to the future of Myanmar.

Join us for a conversation with Amara Thiha, Stimson Nonresident Fellow and Doctoral Researcher at the Peace Research Institute Oslo, and Ami Acary (aka Sung Thluai Chin), SJD Candidate at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, to discuss the implications of the Kachin offensive for the resistance.
