In the leadup to COP29, the Stimson Center and Institute for Economics & Peace (IEP) will host a discussion to better understand the impact of rising food insecurity, water stress, natural disasters, and demographic pressure on countries, regions, and cities around the world. The session will include a presentation of key findings from IEP’s newly published 2024 Ecological Threat Report and expert contributions, followed by an audience-led discussion. The session will unpack the policy and program responses best placed to reduce vulnerability to ecological threats and sustainably manage natural resources — now and over the coming years.
