Join us to discuss how Taiwan and China engage economically with Central and Eastern European countries, and the increasing importance of Taiwan’s high-tech sector investments, especially the electronic manufacturing services and the semiconductor industry. As Taiwan and China court economic partners—Taiwan without having official diplomatic relations, for the most part—assessing the impact of this engagement is key to understanding how countries in Central and Eastern Europe decide to cooperate with China and Taiwan. The authors of two new research papers on these subjects will discuss their findings and insights into this complex dynamic.
